One of my greatest wishes is to get a company or business to ship their stuff or an invite to a restaurant so that I can do a review on them. They are looking for as many bloggers who do reviews as they can get, but only the ones with decent or large numbers of followers, which is understandable. I am truly passionate about this, and it's one of the things I'd love to do with my JoshiesWorld website. I've already written several reviews but paid for them, and I'd like to start getting them through them instead. 🤞🏻

Photojournalist Omar El Qattaa documents the tribulations of a father and his disabled son in north Gaza. Instagram account translating_falasteen provides a synopsis of the video (posted below) and adds English subtitles to the video itself.

A man in North Gaza is struggling to care for his disabled son in the chaos of the brutal war. The father narrates their own ordeal, explaining how they were bombarded and displaced multiple times, from Al Nada Buildings to Khalil Aweda school, and eventually to a UNRWA clinic. Despite staying there for eight months, they faced further gunfire and fire, forcing them to flee again. The father, carrying his son on his shoulders throughout these ordeals, describes the lack of resources, using plastic bags as makeshift diapers due to the absence of money. The family continues to seek a safe place to stay, with only a permanent ceasefire as the only viable solution to stop the madness in their lives.

I figured out what calculations to do to transfer animations from the Bugsnax player rig to an NPC rig, and put a few onto the Filbo model I modified into the Journalist, but I'm not sure what to do with it now. I've got their idle animation, their walking animation, their crouching animation, their crouching and walking animation, some jumping stuff, and their on fire animation, but maybe there's some others I can add? A lot of the tool using animations clip through their body, so they don't look as good from a third person perspective.

Their face almost never moves because the player doesn't have a face to animate, which is also a problem. I guess I could... learn to actually animate. Or steal another character's face animation, like I did with the default expression. This model can do expressions, but that's because expression animations are the same for every character, so I just used the ones from Filbo's animation file.

I think their shoulders are a bit janky still too. I should see if I can fix that. And I'm not totally happy with some of the eye colours.

Heheheh, look at 'em go. They don't know they're trapped in Blender for the foreseeable future.

Hey friends, if I can ask for a moment of your time and ask you to sign this petition.

The Telegraph recently posted a horrifically ableist piece about chronically ill “influencers” (most people involved would consider themselves advocates), blaming chronically ill people for dropping employment numbers by “normalizing worklessness” and insinuating that visibly disabled and chronically ill people online are only doing so for monetary gain.

I’m not going to link to the article because I don’t want to give it any more views or clicks but you can feel free to look it up yourself. There are also excerpts from the article included in the above petition.

The journalist involved, Natasha Leake, intentionally lied to the influencers involved, claiming she supported what they were doing and wanted to raise awareness about their conditions. Needless to say what was printed was not supportive and the people involved are devastated.

And if you’re thinking this sounds like a rehash of something the BBC did a few years ago when they tried to pit disabled people against chronically ill people and made insinuations about “sickfluencers” being in it for the money, you’d be right.

Same old shit, different media outlet.

There has been a huge push back in media against chronically ill and disabled people over the last few years, in part because our governments are moving more toward fascism and they want you to feel apathy towards the neglect and suffering their policies cause. The media is a tool of this.

Please don’t let us be the only ones fighting back against it. No matter how healthy and abled you currently are, you are just one bad accident, one unexpected illness or fluke of genetics away from joining us.

Please spread and sign demanding that the Telegraph remove this defaming and ableist article and issue a public apology. Thank you 💖

Journalist Anas Al-Sharif documents the struggles of physically disabled people in north Gaza. The lack of functioning automobiles means the only available vehicles are ever-dwindling animal-drawn carts (dwindling due to IOF targeting of the carts and the animals, the animals’ own starvation, and the need to slaughter animals in order to eat). Here, a cart driver walks and steers the animal on the ground while a young man in a wheelchair and his family are transported on the cart. Without this cart, moving by wheelchairs over flooded and bombed-out roads would be impossible. Conditions at rest are no better, as many people had to evacuate to shelter centers, which are unequipped to provide for the needs of disabled people, who make up a large and increasing portion of the population. Even for those who shelter in homes, there is neither electricity for medical needs nor functional hospitals or medical centers.

when he woke up, banner assured him "you're free now, it cant hurt you anymore," and eddie felt SICK he wanted to demand venom back, but he played it cool, tentatively said "so he's... gone," to gather information and banner replied "you've got nothing to be afraid of, i have it under lock and key. it cant possibly get to you anymore."

eddie had seen an actual ad in the paper for wade's "do-good mercy-nary services" which seemed absolutely ridiculous and he got a good laugh about it with venom, but now he's all alone and banner has venom locked away!! and there's only so much he can do with the information he'd gotten from banner about venom's location!! so as soon as he stumbles home he starts formulating a plan. he could try and do it on his own, but banner has stark tech that he's working with, and eddie's no good at hacking. a "mercy-nary" doesnt really sound like he'd be a good hacker either, but at the very least he probably knows how to slip into places unnoticed, right? and eddie doesnt have anyone he could contact about any of this. so he caves, and he gathers up all his meager savings, and he makes the call.

"i know how this sounds," he says into the receiver, "but i had an-- an alien. attached to me. and someone stole him, and now i want him back. he really matters to me, and he's been kidnapped, and i cant get him back on my own." there's silence on the other end, presumably processing this.

"well!" a cheery voice says, "why not aliens? we've already got mutants and magicians and superhumans running around. if you say he's been kidnapped, then we're happy to help! oooo, was it an eerie government facility, i love breaking into those and slaughtering everyone inside!"

eddie looks down at the phone nervously. maybe this was the wrong number to call. there's sounds of a scuffle, and the cheery voice whines something muffled and petulant, and then a much more gruff voice appears to tell him "ignore him. we'll help. bring half the payment now to discuss particulars, and half when the job's finished."

somehow the voice is even less comforting than the odd cheery one, but eddie's fairly desperate. "deal," he says. "and, uh, no, it isnt a governemnt agency. it... it's... it's bruce banner. the avenger."

silence. there's a squealing sound on the other end of the line, and a distant "ohmigod, we're gonna steal from an /avenger/! think he'll sign my boobs if i ask nicely?" the gruff voice, much closer to the phone, says "keep ignoring him. bring the money." and then the line clicks dead.

/the things you do for love/, eddie thinks despairingly

you know what we need? a fic where bruce banner tries to forcibly separate eddie and venom. after all, venom is attacking people, and he knows what it's like to be taken over by a beast that you cant control! and he cant be separated from the hulk, but he can save this human taken hostage by a space alien. clearly, he is helping.

only for eddie to wake up on a gurney after a soundwave attack and be forced to go on a super spy mission to retrieve his love, and shut down banner's sonic weapons
